Switchable Capacitor Bank Coordination and Dynamic Network Reconfiguration for Improving Operation of Distribution Network Integrated with Renewable Energy Resources

Point of common coupling (PCC) arrays are the most prominent and widely-used intermittent distributed generations (DGs). Due to right-of-way, environmental, economical other restrictions, connection these types DGs preferred point distribution network is very difficult or impossible in some cases. Therefore, because non-optimal locations, they may cause a voltage rise at PCC. In this paper, coordinated design switchable capacitor banks (SCBs) with dynamic reconfiguration proposed avoid low- high-voltage violations. The implemented mitigate PCCs (CBs) solve low-voltage problem. A novel method presented for determining optimal size CBs. sizing (CSM) effectively determines values reactive power given nodes. locations SCB determined using particle swarm optimization algorithm. 24-hour curve optimized by plays pivotal role designing SCBs. simulation results show that implementation placement required maintain standard profile better employment DG embedded networks.
